Cloud inversion is something I have never witnessed in person, but upon my very first visit to Bryce Canyon, it happened. It was surreal even if out of two days I only had a couple hours to shoot! I only wish I had stayed longer and ventured south to Zion to see it in snow!

20" inches of snow fell on Bryce over the latter half of last week into the weekend leaving a beautiful blanket of pristine snow, the light play from sunrise created this beautiful soft balance of light and shadow.

The sun breaking through the clouds, fog and snow at Bryce Canyon after a huge snow storm dropped many inches of snow, the wind brushed it smooth and sent snowflakes shimmering through the suns rays.

Moab in the winter is a pretty special experience, with the looming mountains covered in snow, hardly any other people, and beautifully warm sunsets.

When the light fades away to darkness in this sandstone alcove you can almost here the sounds of the ancient Puebloans dancing and singing. Before the intrusion of the white men the ancient natives built their homes here in the desert, their culture still barely understood.
