One of the highlights of our trip to the Pacific Northwest was the banzai trip to Johnston Ridge in Washington, on the northwestern side of Mount St. Helens. With a near full moon, I had a very short window to shoot the milky way, unfortunately the halo cloud that hung around the crater stuck around but I feel like it helps add a uniqueness to the scene. The indian paintbrush were starting to bloom and if you look closely you'll see them spread around the scene beyond the remains of trees.
