Autumn in the San Juan's~September 30th-October 4th SW Colorado

Joshua Snow ~ Your Instructor

Join me for 3 days tucked into the mighty San Juan Mountains of SW Colorado! The San Juan Mountains are arguably some of the most picturesque in the nation, especially in the Fall when the basins and valleys are ripe with golden Aspen trees.

This adventure will consist of traveling bumpy, dirt country roads, with abundant stopping to capture scenes as they develop, because autumn weather can change on a dime and being flexible and adaptive will give us the best chance for great photos! We will head high up into mountain passes to photograph mountain peaks, and grand vistas!

During this time we have a great opportunity for snow and moody, foggy weather on top of the beautiful autumn color!

The cost of this 3.5 day and 3 night workshop is $1200.00 with a required, and non-refundable deposit of $350.00 to hold your spot.

**One night stay included for the 3-4th, You will beed to provide your own lodging for the remaining 2 nights, and transportation during your time in the San Juan’s.

This workshop will be limited to 4 students to maximize personal attention.

On each excursion we will capture sunrises, sunsets and if weather cooperates moody midday images! The fall in the rockies is special, with a great chance for atmosphere which can allow for shooting conditions all day long!

The itinerary for the first Adventure will begin on:

Sunday September 30th, in the quaint town of Ridgway, Colorado for a Meet & Greet at the “True Grit Cafe” 123 N Lena St, Ridgway, CO 81432 at 6pm, where we will discuss our fluid itinerary, locations, pending weather, and get to know each other!

**You will want to book your lodging for the Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights in Ridgway, I have booked a Lodge in Telluride for Wednesday night!

We will meet bright and early Monday  morning to capture sunrise at one of several prime locations like the famous “Dallas Divide” along route 62 a few miles outside of town, we will carry on shooting until the light or weather stops us, and will break for lunch late morning. We will reconvene at the Ridgway Lodge from 12:30-3pm (subject to change in coordination with other groups staying at the lodge) for our first of two processing sessions. Then set back out for sunset, a likely location could be the iconic Chimney Rock!

Tuesday morning we will again rise early and travel to our sunrise destination (TBD), and photograph as long as we can, breaking for lunch and a free afternoon for you to explore! We will reconvene in Ouray, (about 20 minutes from Ridgway) at the Ouray Brewery 607 Main St, Ouray, CO 81427 at 3pm, from there we will travel up Red Mountain Pass, one of the most beautiful drives in Colorado with endless autumn scenes for a sunset!

Wednesday morning we will again meet for sunrise at (TBD), We will break for lunch and you’ll have all afternoon to explore before we reconvene Wednesday at 3pm to set out for sunset! After that we will head back into town where I have reserved an entire lodge (<–view here) for the night in Telluride (included in the registration fee) where I will prepare a hearty meal before our evening processing session! ( I am one heck of a cook!)
