Best of Colorado~September 27th-30th Peak Fall Color & Colorado Icons

Joshua Snow ~ Your Instructor

This workshop is sure to be special and full of Autumn spender, moody weather, and stunning golden Aspens!

Join me in Crested Butte, and the surrounding areas during peak fall colors, where we will visit some absolutely stunning landscapes in Colorado! We will operate out of the eclectic, and artsy town of Crested Butte, and spend most of our time capturing scenes along Kebler pass, a colorado icon! This long, winding, mostly dirt road meanders through incredible aspen groves, forest floors covered in thick ferns, passes over creeks and around marshy wetlands! We could even see Moose! Then we will move onto the amazing little town of Marble, and take a 4x4 ride into see and photograph the old Crystal Mill! There will be no shortage of photographic opportunities, and you’ll be able to exercise the full range of focal lengths from the ultra wide, to the long telephoto! Fog, rain, and snow are all string possibilities that will lend to moody, dramatic and intriguing photos! The weather can be difficult to judge, and could range from 15ºF to 60ºF, so come prepared for anything!

The cost of this workshop is $1,100.00 with a required, and non-refundable deposit of $350.00 to hold your spot. This includes one night stay in Marble, Colorado and 2.5 days of in-field and classroom instruction.

This workshop is sure to be special and full of Autumn spender, moody weather, and stunning golden Aspens!

The itinerary for the first Adventure will begin on:

We will gather for a meet & greet at 5pm the evening of Thursday the 27th at “The Secret Stash” Pizza place, for some of the best pizza Ive ever had! We will discuss the itinerary, impending weather, locations, and get to know each other!

Beginning on Friday morning the 28thwe will set out to capture a sunrise, and shoot throughout the best of light and conditions.  Each late morning/early afternoon we will break for lunch, and a processing session in town, where we will go over workflows, image adjustments, image critique, and improvements.

After that we will set back out to find even more “golden scenes” and continue shooting through sunset ensuring we captured every last bit of beautiful light!

Saturday morning we will rise early for another sunrise, and follow a similar itinerary to Fridays, breaking late morning for lunch and   allowing us time to travel the rough road to the town of Marble where I have reserved a lodge (<–view here) for the group to spend the night and have our evening processing session, rising very early Sunday for the treacherous road into the Crystal Mill, acclaimed as one of the most iconic scenes in all of Colorado!

You will follow in your vehicle as we will not be heading back to Crested butte.

After capturing sunrise at the mill we will head out, making our way back to the lodge to say our goodbyes and reflect on our adventure!
