This workshop will begin with a meet and greet Thursday April 12th at 6:30pm at the Stovepipe Wells Hotel Restaurant and Saloon.
We will spend a majority of our time between Stovepipe Wells and Furnace Creek areas of Death Valley.
Our first field session will begin Friday morning bright and early for sunrise, and will leave locations flexible to capture the best light and weather. We will spend several hours in field covering many topics like composition, light, and exposure.
Once the light has become too harsh we will break for breakfast and rest, and reconvene for our processing session at the hotel at 12pm -3:30pm but will also leave this flexible incase of weather conditions that we simply won't want to miss!
After processing we will travel as a group to our sunset location with time to work the scene and find a composition you'll love, and continue shooting into twilight!
The milky way rise is roughly 1:16am and sets at 5:10am during our time together, so we will meet at 3am and travel as a group to our TBD location for morning milky way images and continue into sunrise. We will cover topics like finding compositions and focus in the dark, and use of planning apps.
Saturday afternoon we will reconvene at 1pm-4:30pm for our second immersive processing session and again travel to the field for sunset and twilight!
Sunday will be another early rise to capture the galactic core over death valleys amazing landscape followed again by sunrise! We will gather for a group breakfast and say our goodbyes as we all depart with hard drives full of memories and tired from an epic adventure!
This workshop is sure to push you physically, and creatively and give you the tools to make incredible astro and landscape images!
If you've chosen Package 1, and the inclusive stay at the Stovepipe Wells Hotel, please note your bed preference on the payment page! **You will need to provide your own lodging for Thursday April 12th.
If you've chosen Package 2, then you will be providing your own lodging, and below are links to hotels, and campgrounds in the surrounding area.
I highly recommend Package 1 to take advantage of the groups rates, however the Furnace Creek Inn, and Furnace creek Campground are both nice!
